Switchfly secures $15M Series C funding

Switchfly Inc. is a San Francisco-based company that provides a software-as-a-service (SAAS) platform for companies to manage travel, loyalty and mobile payments. Founded in 2003 as ezRez Software, the company works with travel and leisure clients like American Airlines, JetBlue and Starwood Hotels and Resorts.

Switchfly announced today it has received $15 million in Series C financing to be used on product development and to expand its global operations. The round was led by StarVest Partners of New York with participation from existing investors Azure Capital Partners and Canaan Partners, the company said. Switchfly has raised $32 million to date.

"We're energized by StarVest's commitment, especially considering their expertise in working with innovative and successful SaaS companies," said Daniel Farrar, CEO of Switchfly. "StarVest is the ideal partner to help us further our strategy of helping clients deliver a rich online experience that goes beyond what their customers expect, engendering loyalty while increasing revenue.

According to Switchfly's announcement, the company's core platform processes approximately $750 million in travel transactions in 100 countries annually. Plans for 2012 include a new digital wallet product that will let members of reward and loyalty programs use their reward points as currency.
