Zelle preps for 2017 launch

Early Warning earlier this week announced Zelle, a person-to-person payments system supported by multiple U.S. banks, will launch in 2017. The banks will embed Zelle within their mobile banking channel.

Early Warning will release a consumer-facing Zelle app in 2017, according to a press release.

Zelle is an inclusive network that is open to all banks and credit unions in the U.S. To date, 19 financial institutions, including including eight of the nation's largest retail banks, have joined the Zelle Network.

"Zelle will transform how people manage their financial lives, providing them faster, safer, and more convenient payment options with their friends and family," said Paul Finch, Early Warning CEO. "We are pleased to partner with the leading financial institutions and financial service organizations in the country to make our vision for faster payments a reality for millions of consumers nationwide."
