Wincor Nixdorf, eServGlobal to launch integrated mobile money solution

EServGlobal and Wincor Nixdorf, a provider of IT solutions to the retail and banking industries, announced they will integrate eServGlobal’s mobile money capabilities with Wincor Nixdorf’s ATM portfolio. The resulting solution will allow consumers without bank accounts to use an ATM to deposit and withdraw cash and to manage their mobile money accounts. Developing countries in particular are the target market for the solution.

The term "mobile money" describes systems in which mobile providers or specialized ATM network operators enable simple, secure access to cash via a mobile phone. Such services are in high demand in many countries owing to the rapid mass adoption of mobile devices.

"The integration of ATMs and mobile money services is a central step in the development of an end-to-end solution because it links the world of cash to the eco-system of mobile financial services," said Hermann Salmen, head of mobile money projects at Wincor Nixdorf.

EServGlobal will launch the integrated solution at the Mobile World Congress, which will be held in Barcelona Feb. 27- March 1. The company will demonstrate transactions that can be initiated via mobile devices, such as deposits, withdrawals and funds transfers, also known as mobile wallet services.

PayMobile, eServGlobal’s solution for mobile money services, features open APIs that enable dynamic integration of the cash management and agent management networks. As a result, extensive analysis data is available for electronic marketing to help ensure that programs run as efficiently as possible.
