Visa has entered an agreement to integrate its payments technology into the Wave payments platform, providing improved cash flow and faster access to funds for small businesses, according to a press release.

The agreement calls for Wave to integrate its Instant Payouts feature with Visa Direct push payments technology.

"We’re giving early access to our customers who have been on the platform for a while," Les Whiting, chief financial services officer at Wave, said in a telephone interview with Mobile Payments Today.

Wave works with small businesses that have 10 or fewer employees, for example, freelance workers, architects, law firms and other professionals who operate in an independent or small business setting.

The Instant Payouts technology is currently available to a limited set of customers and will expand to a larger group over the next few months, the company said.
