TxtNation commits to new version of UK micropayment scheme

U.K. carrier biller txtNation has announced that it's offering Payforit 4, the latest version of the Payforit micro-payment scheme, on its platform for U.K. customers. Payforit was created by wireless carriers in the U.K. to support small virtual purchases and allow consumers to place those purchases on their monthly phone bills.

According to an announcement, txtNation had been reluctant to release all of Payforit's integration options, but a "test drive" conducted by select service providers in the past few months allayed those concerns.

"We have had a large amount of interest for Payforit 4 over the last few months, so much so that we have committed ourselves further to making our platform the best it can be to accommodate Payforit's technology," said Ashley Cross, txtNation COO in an announcement. "We are committed to pushing the envelope on client-side interface interactions and adding enhanced accounting features into our platform."

The updated Payforit 4 release brings a number of new features to merchants, such as a "one click" billing option that makes it easier for consumers to make a purchase.

"Payforit Version 4 creates massive value for all U.K. mobile customers, as they know it's secure and quick to bill," said txtNation director Michael Whelan. "The Payforit experience will accelerate mobile billing transactions for mobile and web merchants by the increase in consumer confidence."
