Transaction Wireless secures patent for social gifting tech for Facebook

Transaction Wireless, a provider of multi-channel digital gift card and integrated marketing solutions, announced today that it has been granted a United States patent for its social gifting technology built on Facebook Platform. The new patent protects the Transaction Wireless technology which combines social sharing and gift card purchases with delivery via Facebook, mobile devices and email. The patent protects gift card purchasing within Facebook, gift card personalization, scheduled delivery and customer loyalty, the company said in a press release.

Transaction Wireless provides retailers and partners with a vehicle for purchasing and delivering digital gift cards and offering loyalty and marketing programs on the popular Facebook Platform, which provides access to more than 500 million members and an unparalleled consumer brand interaction. Transaction Wireless provides branded gift card storefronts on retailer Facebook Pages where people can purchase digital gift cards and add a personal touch with a photo and text, audio and video messages.

In addition to delivery via mobile device and email, gift givers can post on the recipient's Facebook Wall, bringing more friends into the celebration and ensuring gift cards are never misplaced. Specific gift card delivery dates and times can be scheduled to guarantee that every occasion is remembered.

This latest patent, number 7953654, joins Transaction Wireless' first patent, number 7711620, for its gift card services for mobile devices.
