Tabbedout competitor Cover raises $1.5M in seed funding

Another start-up is looking to make it easier for restaurant-goers to pay their tabs with their smartphones, and is hoping to compete with companies like Tabbedout. This time it’s a start-up called Cover. And according to TechCrunch, the company, based in New York, has $1.5 million in funding to help it in its quest.

The post said Cover hopes to edge out competitors with a simpler user interface, such as that used by car-sharing service Uber. The company also wants something that can integrate with a restaurant's point-of-sale system without requiring any new equipment or integration.

The app is in private beta at the moment. The seed round of funding was led by OATV and included a number of prominent angel investors.
