Square Online Store goes live in UK, Canada, Australia following March debut in US

Square announced Tuesday that the Square Online Store for sellers has gone live in the U.K., giving SMEs a solution for omnichannel or online business, and marking the first full integration in that market since the company acquired Weebly in 2018.

Companies can begin with a free starter plan that charges no monthly fees, and provides access to integrated tools such as Instagram galleries, shipping, in-store pickup and other items.

Square Online Store is also available for restaurants with an offering that includes seamless website ordering, customized pickup times at different store locations and the ability for customers to pay ahead for online orders.

"Its crucial that sellers be able to reach their buyers on any channel, whether in person, online or in apps," David Rusenko, head of e-commerce at Square said in the announcement.

A spokesperson confirmed that the service also has gone live in Canada and Australia this week, following the launch of the revamped Square Online Store and Square for Retail last month in the United States.

Square is also offering custom-built Square for Restaurants and Square Appointments for service-oriented businesses.
