PayIt, a digital payment platform for government services, has raised more than $100 million in a round of funding from Insight Partners, a New York-based venture capital firm, according to a company release.

The company said the funding will be used to expand its platform, which is used by state and local governments to accept digital payments on the web and through mobile apps. The technology enables a wide range of payments, including taxes, utilities, motor vehicle payments and other transactions.

"We're thrilled to partner with Insight Partners to further accelerate the value we're able to deliver to constituents and the governments that serve them," PayIt founder and CEO John Thomson said in the release.
