Onebip launches a mobile payment browser

Onebip, the mobile payment business of m-commerce company Neomobile, announced it has launched Onebip Mobile Browser, a new mobile browser-based purchasing solution, across more than 70 countries worldwide.

With the Onebip Mobile Browser, online merchants such as game publishers and app developers can make payments in a matter of a few clicks. Content downloads, virtual currency, subscriptions and game purchases made via a mobile browser are charged directly to a mobile phone bill, making purchases simple and easy, and allowing even consumers without a credit card to buy.

"With Onebip Mobile Browser, we have opened up mobile commerce to millions of consumers that until now have been the losers in the incredible rise of mobile content and services," said Massimiliano Silenzi, mobile payments executive director at Onebip. "Plus, digital merchants, developers, and online service providers of all sizes have gained a powerful tool to help them monetize their content and services on any mobile device."

What makes the Onebip Mobile Browser interesting is that it's smart enough to detect the type of device a customer is using as well as the type of connection being used. The browser automatically optimizes the payment flow for the purchase depending on all these factors, the company said, streamlining the experience and increasing the chances that the transaction will be successfully converted.

The Onebip Mobile Browser payment solution supports all smartphone platforms, including iOS, Android, Windows Phone and RIM, and also works on web-connected feature phones and other legacy devices. Additionally, Onebip Mobile Browser can be integrated into any kind of website, content, application or service that is accessible via a mobile browser, including web apps built using HTML5, Onebip said.
