NTT Docomo expands mobile funds transfer service to China, Thailand

Japanese mobile operator  NTT Docomo Inc. will expand its mobile money transfer business to China and Thailand starting Dec. 17, according to a news release.

The service will be available for remittances to 70 banks and financial institutions in China and 28 in Thailand for a flat fee of JPY 1,000 [$8.80].

The money transfer service is used to allow Japanese customers to send funds to friends or family overseas or for migrant workers to send money home.

The service can be used on an iOS or Android app, using a Docomo feature or smartphone or on the web, according to the release.
