Payment system provider ACI Worldwide has launched a new service for billers that lets them offer customers a full mobile bill payment option. Its Mobile Bill Pay suite is an end-to-end solution that provides notification, viewing and payment of a bill entirely through a mobile device, the company said.

The solution works across iOS and Android devices and offers an option for SMS text interaction.

"(T)he increasing adoption of smartphones and tablets is driving more consumers toward mobile devices to manage their payments needs, and billers need to adapt and offer a mobile bill payment option," said Janie West, senior vice president and product line manager at ACI Worldwide. "With Mobile Bill Pay Suite, billers should be able to leverage these ongoing trends and bring the world of bill payment into the rapidly growing mobile commerce universe."

Along with allowing for better service through a device consumers are coming to rely on, ACI said its new suite of tools is benefitting billers by providing full integration with existing online payment services including mobile web, apps, text, desktop computer and online banking.

ACI Worldwide already handles electronic payments and banking for more than 1,750 financial institutions, retailers and processors around the world, the company said. Its software enables $13 trillion in payments daily including transactions for more than 250 of the leading global retailers and 18 of the world's 20 largest banks.
