MoneyGram and Mozido to offer mobile money transfer

Money transfer company MoneyGram International announced an expanded relationship with Mozido, a payment platform provider. The new relationship includes allowing MoneyGram's remittance transfer services on approved Mozido mobile wallet applications. Mozido was already providing a mobile gateway for MoneyGram.

"The Mozido-MoneyGram collaboration continues to be successful and we are excited about our expanded global relationship," said Moneygram's chairman and CEO Pamel H. Patsley in the announcement.

Patsley said Mozido's global mobile wallet technology services give MoneyGram a greater reach and the ability to provide services with an extra level of convenience for consumers who prefer to interact in the mobile channel.

According to the announcement, Mozido's Global Cloud Payment Network provides enhanced mobile multi-channel transaction services to customers. The platform works on a variety of hardware systems and with virtually any mobile network operator, which includes CDMA and GSM.

"The combination of Mozido's mobile wallet services and MoneyGram's global network truly offers consumers an enhanced mobile transaction experience," said Rick Braddock, chairman of Mozido.
