Japanese lawmakers to propose digital currency
Japanese lawmakers are mulling over a plan to launch a digital version of the yen, amid concerns over China's plans for a digital yuan and the impact of Facebook’s Libra project, according to Reuters.
The group, comprised of about 70 members of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, are exploring a plan to launch a public-private partnership to develop a digital version of the yen that would compete with other digital currencies, according to the report.
