Kruidvat, which is part of the A.S. Watson Group that operates over 1,200 retail stores in Belgium and the Netherlands, is deploying NCR's Next Generation Retail Store Architecture, including self-checkout software, services and hardware, for faster customer checkout.

The technology, according to a press release, will also offer Kruidvat's customers a more efficient check-out experience.

"As the market-leading drugstore in the Netherlands and one of the best-known in Belgium, our customers look to us for a superior experience," Casper Oosterman, project manager sales operations, at Kruidvat, said in the release. "NCR helps us remain competitive and provide a safer checkout process for our customers and staff in the light of the current pandemic."

Kruidvat is a health and beauty store that also offers fashion accessories, textile products, CDs, toys, decorative household items and photo services.
