Google Wallet to add P2P?

Android Community listened in on a Q&A with Google Wallet's product manager Robin Dua earlier today. Dua shared information about carrier and retailer support for the product and hinted that person-to-person payments may be in Google Wallet's near future. P2P functionalty would let users simply tap their NFC-enabled phones together to send and receive money.

During the presentation, Dua also discussed issues regarding carrier support for Google Wallet. The application is officially available only on NFC phones connected to the Sprint network (though there are various methods for "side loading" the app with other carriers).

Three of the four major carriers are, of course, behind Isis, a competitor to Google Wallet that will launch any day now. However, according to the post, Dua said Google is "in active negotiations" with carriers to open up access to Google Wallet.

The entire Q&A session is available for viewing on YouTube.
