Texas-based First Choice Power announced a new payment option for some of its energy customers. Those customers on a prepaid plan will now be able to use their mobile devices to pay for their service through First Choice’s QuickPay mobile site. 

In an announcement of the service, First Choice Power said it is the only energy provider in Texas to offer a mobile payment option for prepaid customers.

"We listened to our customers and many of them told us easy online and mobile payment options would make their prepaid plans even more convenient," said Brian Hayduk, president of First Choice Power. 

Prepaid energy plans through First Choice Power use smart meters to provide real-time updates of customers' energy usage. Through the QuickPay site, customers can also check on account balances, view payment history and even calculate how many days of service they have left.
