Cellum helps bring contactless wristbands to Hungary music festivals

Cellum, a Hungary-based mobile payments technology provider, is working with Festipay to bring contactless-enabled wristbands to music festival patrons to use as a ticket and payment device, according to a press release.

Patrons can use the wristband in conjunction with a festival's mobile app to load funds into a prepaid account linked to the wearable. The companies this past weekend had the wristband active for their largest event yet: the Volt Festival.

For previous festivals, Festipay had distributed contactless cards that enabled patrons to pay for goods at various events. Festipay introduced the wristband this year with Cellum's help.

"Our integrated venue access and payment solution puts Sziget's festivals on the forefront globally, from a technological standpoint," Festipay CEO Dániel Kaderják said in the release.
