Bank Michigan launches Plinqit savings app that pays users for engagement

Bank Michigan, a Brooklyn, Michigan-based community bank, announced the launch of Plinqit, a branded, savings app that pays users to engage in content.

The Plinqit app, developed by a firm called HT Mobile Apps, includes a patent-pending Build Skills technology that provides users with educational videos, a library with financial education articles and quizzes, which readers can use and get paid for as a reward for engaging the content.

"Bank Michigan's core belief is to always provide value to the communities we serve," Richard Northrup, president and CEO of Bank Michigan, said in a company release. "Plinqit will offer our current and prospective customers the opportunity to grow their savings and attain financial freedom through the app."

The app has generated funding of more than $400,000 for customers at multiple banks, including First Arkansas Bank & Trust.
