African fintech company expands M-Pesa connections
MFS Africa and Vodafone expand a partnership it first announced earlier this year.
MFS Africa, a pan-African fintech company that connects different mobile wallets across the continent, recently announced a partnership with Vodafone to expand its reach with M-Pesa.
"We are thrilled to offer M-Pesa users across Africa the ability to send and receive money from other countries and networks," said Michael Joseph, director of mobile money at Vodafone. "MFS Africa brings simplicity, execution speed, and above all technical know-how to the otherwise difficult process of enabling cross-border remittances."
MFS Africa said in a press release its system already connects over 65 million mobile wallet users across Africa through partnerships with other mobile money operators and mobile networks. The company also is working with funds transfer companies outside the continent.
MFS Africa and Vodafone earlier this year announced a partnership to enable mobile money transfers between Kenya and Rwanda.
