Adyen adds Yandex.Checkout acceptance merchants in Russia

Payments platform Adyen has expanded its partnership with Russia's largest payment service provider, Yandex.Checkout, to enable retailers worldwide to accept the most popular payments methods in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, according to a press release.

"Adyen has carved out a powerful place in the payment industry by laying down smooth payment rails for the biggest names in tech" Anna Kuzmina, Yandex.Money deputy CCO, said in the release. "Russia has been one of the fastest growing e-commerce markets: its volume in the first half of 2017 grew by 22 percent (compared to the first half of 2016) and reached 498 billion RUB (US$8.7 billion)."

The companies did not provide details of which payment brands would be accepted, but said they would include "e-wallets, online banking, and cash via mobile retailers and payment kiosks."
