Tesco nears launch of mobile payments app
The supermarket chain first tested the app in 2014 and extended the pilot last year to 50 locations in Edinburgh and London.
U.K.-based supermarket chain Tesco recently announced that it will roll out its PayQwiq mobile payments app to more locations through the rest of this year after what it deemed a successful pilot, according to multiple media reports.
Tesco first tested the app in 2014 and extended the pilot last year to 50 locations in Edinburgh and London, according to a report from The Grocer. The chain plans to expand PayQwiq acceptance to 500 locations.
The Grocer reported that the app enables users to pay up to 400 pounds ($565) for groceries and collect points for Tesco's loyalty program, Clubcard.
