Samsung to work with major POS providers

The company wants consumers to have the best possible experience when using Samsung Pay.

Samsung Electronics has  announced partnerships with some of the world's largest point-of-sale manufacturers "to accelerate [Samsung Pay] adoption by ensuring the best possible user experience at merchants' point-of-sale systems during checkout," according to a press release.

Samsung will work with Equinox, First Data and Clover, ID TECH, Ingenico Group, MagTek, OTI Global, PAX Technology, USA ePay and Verifone.

Samsung Pay uses both Near Field Communication and Magnetic Secure Transmission technology, the latter of which works with magstripe-only terminals to make mobile payments.

"We are excited to be working with our POS partners to accelerate the adoption of mobile payments and bring greater innovation into the marketplace," said Sang Ahn, chief commercial officer of Samsung Pay.
