Proxama launches new service for HCE and tokenization

The Digital Enablement Platform is a suite of digital payments products intended to simplify card issuers' adoption of NFC payments based on Host Card Emulation and tokenization technologies.

Proxama, a provider of digital payment products for card issuing banks and processors, recently unveiled its new Digital Enablement Platform, a suite of digital payments products intended to simplify card issuers' adoption of NFC payments based on Host Card Emulation and tokenization technologies, according to a press release.

Proxama said its new product suite is an industry first and it enables card issuers to implement a complete end-to-end product that delivers:

  • HCE app provisioning, including EMVCo compliant tokenization
  • Transaction processing and de-tokenization
  • HCE credential management for both Visa and MasterCard
  • A secure HCE payment SDK which enables NFC payments in an existing phone app such as mobile banking

Proxama believes the Digital Enablement Platform can help issuers and processors to take control of their digital plans with a product that supports independent HCE deployments today and then grow with them as Apple Pay and other emerging payment models open out to in-house management and control. Issuers can now move quickly to HCE, with Proxama's suite providing all the necessary components in an integrated package, according to the announcement. Users can also benefit from Proxama Digital Enablement Platform's modular deployment model, enabling some functions to be provided in-house, by card networks or by third-party components according to issuer preference.

"Proxama's new Digital Enablement Platform has a rich heritage behind it, using Proxama components that are already powering the card issuing and processing operations in high profile financial institutions and service providers, including Nets and Fiserv," said Rob Macmillan, vice president of marketing for Proxama's Digital Payments Division. "The Proxama team brings a unique and unparalleled skill set that touches all the key disciplines, from handset security to high performance transaction processing, and counts the card networks themselves as customers."

For those card issuers in the U.S. considering the impending EMV liability shift, Proxama said components of the Digital Enablement Platform provide EMV enablement for physical card issuance and transaction processing. Starting with these Digital Enablement Platform components for EMV migration provides a simple stepping stone to full HCE and NFC later, Proxama said in the announcement.
