NCR launched its Cloud Connect ecosystem of digital services for retailers at this week's NRF 2014 Big Show.

Cloud Connect is a hosted infrastructure that allows third parties to integrate, maintain and deploy their services across NCR's installed base of POS systems. Mobile payments and digital coupons are among the applications offered.

Payments companies integrating with Cloud Connect include PayPal for online and mobile payments, and LevelUp, which is linking its mobile payment and loyalty solution to NCR's restaurant POS systems via the cloud-based platform (http://www.mobilepaymentstoday.com/article/213433/LevelUp-adds-NCR-as-a-POS-partner).

Also at NRF 2014, ACTV8.me announced that it had integrated its Personalized Proximity Platform with Cloud Connect.

"Integrating NCR Cloud Connect with ACTV8.me's Personalized Proximity Platform provides a unique and compelling experience to offer consumers while they're shopping, dining or traveling," Chris Lybeer, NCR's vice president of retail business development, said in a news release. "This synchronized experience drives customer engagement, sales, loyalty and measurable data, while respecting consumer privacy with opt-in and opt-out capabilities."
