MyCheck pay-at-table app chooses DataCash for processing

Payments services provider DataCash has said it is now processing payments for MyCheck, an electronic payment method that serves as an alternative to cash and credit cards.

With the MyCheck app, bar and restaurant patrons can validate their payment details to receive a four digit payment authorization code. The code is then entered into the POS system by a restaurant or bar's wait staff. That opens a tab that a customer can use to order food and drinks. At the end of the meal, the customer closes out the tab through a self checkout using the pre-authorized code. The restaurant or bar gets its funds and the patron is on his way. (Customers can request that the bill and receipt be sent to them via email.)

MyCheck said it chose to partner with DataCash, a MasterCard company, for its robust and reliable payment gateway and to leverage its experience in delivering bespoke payment solutions.

"We are excited to be working with MyCheck to help it provide another valuable service to the hospitality industry," said Ajay Bhalla, President at DataCash.

"By using DataCash's solutions," Bhalla said, "MyCheck can ensure that when the customer comes to pay, the process is completed quickly, efficiently and seecurely which in turn will provide more efficient services for all parties involved."

Bhalla said MyCheck has been piloted successfully in Israel and New York City and will be launched soon in London.

Besides enabling payments, MyCheck also integrates with exisiting loyalty programs, the company said.
