Photo messaging mobile app Snapchat earlier this week filed two trademarks around processing peer-to-peer payments, funds transfers and online payments, according to an article from TechCrunch.

The tech site reported that one of the trademards is for "computer application software for processing electronic payments to and from others that may be downloaded from a global computer network." 

The other trademark is for the "electric transfer of money for others; providing electronic processing of electronic funds transfer, ACH, credit card, debit card, electronic, mobile and online payments.

TechCrunch reported that Snapchat filed the trademarks on July 11 through an attorney at Cooley, which is the company's law firm.
