Mitek Tuesday announced it has added facial recognition capabilities to the company's instant ID document verification product, Photo Verify.

The company said in a press release these two factors of authentication are intended to help businesses optimize the mobile channel for customer acquisition and payments while minimizing risk.

"With Photo Verify and facial recognition, businesses can quickly and easily verify that a mobile user’s identity document is authentic and that they are the person pictured is on that document," said Michael Hagen, managing director and corporate ID strategist for Mitek.

Mitek is showcasing Photo Verify this week at the Money 20/20 conference in Las Vegas.
