Fashion retailer expands digital gift card distribution

Charming Charlie said it recently expanded its relationship with Stored Value Solutions.

Women's fashion accessories retailer Charming Charlie recently expanded its relationship with Stored Value Solutions to offer e-commerce distribution of digital gift cards. Charming Charlie originally partnered with SVS in 2012 for gift card processing in their over 340 stores across the U.S.

Charming Charlie said it chose the SVS e-commerce platform due to its demonstrated strength, diverse customization options for greater consumer personalization and reliable support to launch in time for peak season 2014, according to a press release.

"Charming Charlie was a prime candidate for our e-commerce solution," Mark Schatz, SVS managing director and senior vice president. "They readily coordinated the input and support of their key departments including marketing, IT, finance, eComm and digital to ensure we could build a sophisticated, well-rounded program together that continually grows with the organization."

Charming Charlie said in the announcement gift cards purchased online during the winter holiday season grew by an exponential rate year over year since introducing online access to digital eCards to complement the availability of physical cards, according to the announcement.

"We have been extremely happy with SVS as our partner for all things stored value," Charming Charlie Chief Information Officer John Hnanicek said in a statement. "Our new ability to offer gift cards online for purchase and redemption helps reduce overhead, increase visibility and overcome geographic limitations. The e-commerce implementation was flawless and the added functionality makes our customer experience effortless. We love the proactive guidance, strategic support and consultative approach that SVS provides."
