Customers Bank launches mobile-only FI with network of 55K free ATMs

The mobile FI is focused especially on serving demographic groups that include millennials, Gen X-ers, and tech-savvy baby boomers.

Pennsylvania-based Customers Bank has launched BankMobile, a no-fee provider of traditional banking services on a fully mobile platform, according to a press release.

The mobile FI is focused especially on serving middle class American demographic groups including millennials, Gen X-ers, and tech-savvy baby boomers. The bank will offer these customers checking and savings accounts and lines of credit, as well as a fee-free network of more than 55,000 ATMs.

"Innovation has stalled in the banking industry; while the rest of the world is in the digital age, banking remains stagnant," Jay Sidhu, CEO of Customers Bank and BankMobile, said in the release. "We are here to change this and bring banking to the 21st century. We will ensure our customers feel involved in the progress of this bank and are offering them a truly enjoyable banking experience — different from anything they have experienced before."
