Braintee expands One Touch outside US

Merchants in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the U.K. now have the ability to add the checkout option to their mobile apps for Android and iOS.

Braintree's One Touch with PayPal mobile payment checkout option now is available outside the U.S., according to a company blog post.

Merchants in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the U.K. now have the ability to add the checkout option to their mobile apps for Android and iOS.

"We’re starting the rollout in these markets, while working quickly to bring One Touch to our tens of thousands of customers across the more than 40 countries we serve globally," Braintree wrote in the blog post

One Touch eliminates the need for consumers to enter a username and password when they use PayPal as a payment method.

U.S.-based Jane.com, ParkWhiz, StubHub, Type Tees by Threadless and YPlan, have enabled One Touch, as well Fashionis in Italy, according to the blog post. Others like Cabonline in Sweden, JustPark in the U.K. and Polagram in France are planning to integrate in the coming weeks.

Braintree said merchants such as YPlan and StubHub have already reported a decrease in shopping cart abandonment and an increase in revenues as a result of One Touch. YPlan, for example, reported a double digit increase in conversions since having enabled One Touch, while StubHub saw a 50 percent increase in sales and transactions going through PayPal with One Touch, according to Braintree.

To enable One Touch, merchants need to integrate with Braintree’s v.zero SDK.
