Giftango Corporation, a digital gift card provider, announced a partnership with Burger King Worldwide to launch the BK digital gift card program.
Customers will soon be able to redeem their BK Crown Card from web-enabled mobile devices, including iOS 6 and Android phones, at participating Burger King restaurants in the U.S.
Digital gift cards – called BK eGifts – are available through a variety of channels including BK.com and are delivered to the recipient through email, SMS text or as a Facebook wall post.
"Burger King brand has a proactive approach to social media and promotions," said David Nelsen, CEO of Giftango. "In addition to launching digital gift cards on the BK.com website, we are introducing the new digital gift card to a variety of our channel partners, launching promotions, managing store fulfillment of plastic cards and serving as a sales partner with Burger King Worldwide. We are pleased to be launching a truly comprehensive program for gift card sales, promotions and fulfillment with Burger King brand."
BK Crown Cards and BK eGifts can be purchased at BK.com. Purchasers may choose to have the digital gift delivered instantly or have the card delivered on a specified date. Digital cards may be displayed from mobile or printed and redeemed as a physical version of the digital card.
Other Giftango partners include Papa John's and Chili's Grill. The company was recently named a finalist at the 2012 Global Prepaid Awards in the "Best Global Prepaid Innovation" and "Leading Prepaid Organization (North America)" categories.
