AisleBuyer LLC, a provider of in-store mobile commerce solutions for retailers, restaurants and brands, today released a major update to its commerce platform and self-checkout application, mShop. The company will be demonstrating version 2.0 at Booth #2937 at the NRF 101st Annual Convention and Expo, taking place this week at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.

According to the company, the AisleBuyer mobile solution consists of a mobile commerce platform and shopping applications that allow retailers to offer consumers a better in-store experience while collecting valuable data on customer buying habits. This update includes new functionality to improve the user experience, achieving the retailer's unique brand requirements throughout the application, and integrating with retail systems for cross-channel consistency. The new functionality in this release includes:

  • A new software development kit (SDK) for mShop, which enables retailers and developers to build their own versions of the mShop application to reflect their brands, or add specific mShop features — such as mobile self-checkout or mobile wallet functionality — to existing applications. The mShop SDKs, available for iOS and Android, enable retailers to customize their applications to include features and technology readily available via Web APIs.
  • New Web APIs make it easy to integrate merchandising data from other retail systems into the AisleBuyer Mobile Commerce Platform. This two-way synchronization of data allows for true multichannel commerce. In addition, with the Web APIs, retailers can build new applications on top of AisleBuyer's mobile commerce platform.
  • A new Merchant Dashboard that allows brick-and-mortar retailers to enjoy the same level of analytics in-store that was previously reserved for online retailers. The Dashboard provides a real-time view into all in-store activity, including individual shopper analysis. The Dashboard also features merchandising control for catalog and pricing information at both the store- and chain-level, and it includes built-in marketing and advertising tools for easily creating offers, deals and coupons that appear within the application during consumer shopping trips.
  • A redesigned consumer interface resulting from more than a year's worth of shopper feedback using the AisleBuyer mShop mobile self-checkout application. The user interface has been streamlined to bring the most commonly used features top level and has reduced the amount of clicks necessary to check out, improving usability and the overall customer experience.
