WorldRemit launches digital remittance service in Africa
WorldRemit plans to launch digital service in Africa, according to a press release.
The company said it will target what it deems as fast-growing economies in east Africa for the initial rollout. Those countries include Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda
"Just as WorldRemit has revolutionized the way people send money from developed countries, our vision is to do the same within Africa," Ismail Ahmed, CEO and co-founder of WorldRemit, said in the release. "From the frequent traveler, who works in different countries, to the small business owner buying goods abroad, our new fast service will offer the benefits of lower cost and greater convenience."
WorldRemit did not reveal when it would debut the service in Africa.
