WhatsApp making inroads into mobile payment with India test
WhatsApp, the secure messaging service owned by Facebook, is making solid inroads since it began testing a mobile payments service in India last February, according to a Financial Times report.
More than one million Indians are testing WhatsApp's mobile payment functionality in the messaging app. The Indian government has helped bring along the service, which allows users to send money to others and pay bills, through its UPI payments system.
