WhatsApp enables P2P transfers in India
WhatsApp has launched a person-to-person payments feature via bank transfer that is in line with the Unified Payments Interface in India, according to multiple local media reports.
The Unified Payments Interface is a standard set forth by the National Payments Corporation of India to help make payments-oriented apps interoperable.
NPCI said in a press release that fours banks are set to enable transfers within WhatsApp, a popular messaging service that Facebook owns.
