Wells Fargo to offer free remittances to mark UN commemoration for migrant workers

Wells Fargo & Co. will waive all transfer fees for remittances from June 14-17 for ExpressSend customers to commemorate the International Family Day of Remittances, according to a company release.

The United Nation General Assembly in 2018 adopted a resolution to commemorate migrant family remittances. According to World Bank data, remittances for low and middle-income families reached $529 billion in 2018.

Wells Fargo customers can send remittances from more than 40,000 ExpressSend remittance locations and more than 158,000 ATM locations in 13 countries, including Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, China, India, the Philippines and Vietnam.

The first remittance must be made at a Wells Fargo branch, but additional remittances can be made through a toll free number, through wellsfargo.com or visiting a retail branch.
