Vocalink, a MasterCard unit, has announced a deal with Peru's automated clearing house Camara de Compensacion Electronica to overhaul that country's electronic payments infrastructure.

As part of the overhaul, which will allow real-time electronic payments any time of day, Vocalink will enable its Immediate Payments Solution. The solution allows users to send and receive payments on mobile phones via phone numbers, without a need for account information.

Vocalink is behind the Faster Payments system in the U.K., and the launch of The Clearing House's RTP in the U.S.
