Visa to bring mPOS to Taiwan

The Visa mPOS solution will soon be available in Taiwan.

The China Post has reported that card brand Visa announced it will be offering its own branded mobile point-of-sale solution to Taiwanese merchants, "in an effort to promote the proliferation of electronic payments."

Like other mobile point of sale solutions, Visa mPOS offers smaller merchants a solution for accepting credit and debit cards using tablets or smartphones as card processing terminals.

The Visa mPOS product is available for both Android and iOS and will include a reader for cards containing EMV chips.

According to the story, Visa is working with nine major Taiwan-based banks to introduce the Visa mPOS solution.
