Visa Ready approves iZettle's mPOS solutions

Swedish social payments provider iZettle's chip-and-PIN and chip-and-signature mobile payments solutions have been approved by the Visa Ready program, iZettle announced today. The approval applies to Visa Inc. territories.

Visa Ready, introduced in February, is designed to provide innovators with an easy way to collaborate with Visa and quickly introduce Visa-compliant devices, software and solutions that can be used to initiate or accept Visa payments, according to the announcement.

"We're honored to receive the Visa Ready approval for our combined mPOS hardware and software," iZettle co-founder and CEO Jacob de Geer said in a news release. "We see this as a reflection of our continuous commitment to providing the highest standards for our users, and we will be taking our solution to other Visa Inc. markets soon."

Earlier this year, another major card network, MasterCard, announced that iZettle meets its industry standards and best practices for mPOS devices.

Sweden's Financial Supervisory Authority regulates iZettle, whose services are EMV-approved, and compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, the release said.

The company's solutions are currently available in Sweden, the U.K., Spain, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Mexico.
