Venmo tackles e-commerce payments with Williams-Sonoma pact
Venmo wants to get itself involved in e-commerce and has struck a deal with Williams-Sonoma to let users of the mobile P2P app buy or split gifts across all Williams-Sonoma properties, according to a report from recode.
"That is very much a traditional retailer that is very innovative that comes from a traditional retail world,” Venmo COO Mike Vaughan said at recode's Code Commerce show in New York City.
Venmo will charge a processing fee to Williams-Sonoma as a way for it to generate revenue from the partnership.
