US Bank adds Masterpass support for Android devices

U.S. Bank customers with an Android device now have access to the MasterCard Masterpass digital wallet when shopping in-store at participating merchants. They can also use Masterpass to make purchases in-app or online, according to a press release.

"Joining forces with MasterCard to offer a digital payment solution gives our MasterCard customers the flexibility to pay how they choose," Clifford Cook, head of product and marketing for the U.S. Bank retail payments services division, said in a statement. "By using Masterpass, our customers can know with confidence that they are paying with trusted technology, whether they are a small business buying equipment at an office supply store or a family of four dining at their favorite neighborhood restaurant."

U.S. Bank customers who use Android devices can use this service at more than 6 million contactless-enabled merchants across the globe. Masterpass is also accepted at hundreds of thousands of merchants for seamless online and in-app payments, according to the announcement.
