Ukraine bank launches payWave using SmartVista platform

BPC Banking Technologies, a provider of open system e-payment solutions, has announced the launch of Visa payWave products at Credit Dnepr Bank in Ukraine. The service is powered by SmartVista from BPC, an integrated solution for transaction processing and card management.

Visa payWave allows Credit Dnepr customers to make contactless payments at POS devices. Low value transactions can be completed in less than a second, without the need for a PIN or signature.

"We see great interest to payWave in Ukraine and for the last year there is an enormous growth in building the acquiring infrastructure," said Elena Bezuglaya, officer of the board at Credit Dnepr Bank. "[A]dding Visa payWave was a natural step. It improves customer experience, providing our customers with the ability to make low-value payments quickly and easily. We have relied on BPC for many years, and so we were confident that, with their help, we would be able to launch this new product in a very short period and to the high quality levels our customers expect," said Elena Bezuglaya, Officer of Board, Credit Dnepr Bank.

In fact, the entire project took only three months to complete, including the certification process by Visa.

"BPC is delighted to be able to help our clients provide innovative solutions and products. We have considerable contactless technologies expertise and we pride ourselves on bringing our worldwide experience to help our clients launch new payment products and services while significantly reducing costs," said Vasily Grigoriev, CEO of BPC Banking Technologies.
