Tyfone licensing its microSD technology in China

Portland, Ore.-based mobile security and payment technology provider Tyfone Inc. announced today an agreement with AboMem Technology Corp., a Taiwanese manufacturer of memory products. According to the announcement, AboMem will now manufacture, distribute and service Tyfone's SideTap microSD NFC products.

Tyfone said the partnership includes the distribution of the SideTap microSD cards to consumers throughout The People's Republic of China.

According to Tyfone, its SideTap microSD card is a unique feature of the company's u4ia platform, a platform that provides end-to-end mobile financial services solutions from informational services and commerce to secure identity and contactless payments via NFC. The microSD card is added to mobile devices for enabling the secure element functionality that makes mobile payment services through NFC connectivity safe.

The agreement is a part of Tyfone's strategy to expand adoption of an add-on secure element solution.

"Tyfone's partnership with AboMem in China enables Tyfone to scale its business with a recognized leader in manufacturing memory products, and unleash its established distribution supply chain," said Prabhakar Tadepalli, Tyfone's president of Asia Pacific and COO.
