Transfast latest entrant into mobile remittance market

Company's app features Apple Touch ID and scan technology for added security.

Transfast this week launched an iOS mobile app for their consumer-facing remittance service that will enable consumers to transfer funds to over 100 countries.

Features of the app include:

  • “quick send,” enabling users to swipe to send funds to previous recipients
  • “scan ID” and “scan card,” shortening the time it takes for new customers to submit information from an ID, credit or debit card
  • Apple’s Touch ID, for added security in authenticating a customer’s identity
  • Ability to add a photo of a recipient in the “new/edit transfer” tab, to help senders recognize recipients more easily, and to personalize their experience

In addition, the app offers in-app chat with a customer service representative. Transfast claims it's the only money transfer app to offer this feature.

Using the app, consumers can sign up and transfer funds to what will soon be more than 100 countries across Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. Recipients can get the funds deposited directly into their bank accounts, in many cases instantly, or pick up cash at any one of Transfast’s 200,000 agent locations worldwide. An Android app will be launched in the coming weeks.
