TIO, iQmetrix announce mobile partnership

TIO Networks Corp. and iQmetrix Software Development Corp. have formed a partnership to bring efficiency to bill payments for wireless retailers that sell mobile phones and also accept in-store monthly cell phone payments.

iQmetrix, a provider of retail-management systems, including point-of-sale terminals, inventory control and sales commissions, is integrating TIO's web-based bill payment platform into iQmetrix's system, said Tony Habib, director of distribution for TIO Networks. TIO Networks' web-based platform enables consumers to pay their wireless bills in cash.

The integration means wireless retailers would not have to use two separate systems—one to accept bill payments and another to process purchases, handle inventory control and keep tabs on employees' sales commissions.

The partnership creates bill-payment efficiency for AT&T and other wireless retailers, Habib said. TIO Networks and iQmetrix have their headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The companies did not disclose the contract's financial terms.
