U.K.-based Tesco has added contactless functionality to its loyalty card that enables users to collect points with a tap at the point of sale, according to a press release.

The retailer has also made what it calls significant improvements to the Tesco Clubcard app. New customers can now use it to sign up for Clubcard while they shop in the store. And existing customers can access their vouchers at the checkout, at the touch of a button, according to the release.

"We've listened to customers and we're delighted to have made Clubcard even simpler and easier to use, introducing a brand new contactless card, an upgraded Clubcard app, and added to our list of partners too," Alessandra Bellini, Tesco's chief customer officer, said in a statement.
