Telluride festival gives moviegoers a mobile payment option

ShopKeep POS and PayPal are teaming up to offer a mobile payment option at the Telluride Film Festival. For the second year in a row, ShopKeep POS, a point-of-sale solution for iPad tablets, will showcase PayPal's mobile payment functionality at the festival.

"We are thrilled to be a part of the Telluride Film Festival again and to be able to showcase our PayPal integrated feature in high-caliber events like this," said Jason Richelson, CEO and founder of ShopKeep POS.

Richelson said the film festival is the perfect place to show how a mobile payment solution can move guests through lines quickly, eliminating the need for them to deal with change while juggling drinks and rushing to find a seat.

According to the company's announcement, Telluride's organizers needed a POS solution that would let them train more than 50 cashiers in a very short amount of time, and support sales during the four-day event for 400 movies generating tens of thousands of transactions.

Calling the decision to go with ShopKeep POS "a no-brainer," Telluride Film Festival executive director Julie Huntsingers said, "We needed a solution that would handle high volumes and ensure no hiccups." She said ShopKeep POS is easy to set up, highly reliable and has customer care that is "out of this world."

The Telluride Film Festival runs from Friday, August 31 through Monday, September 3, 2012.
