Starbucks is expanding the number of payment options available to its most loyal customers, allowing Starbucks Rewards members to pay using cash, credit/debit cards or mobile wallets when using the company mobile app, according to a press release.

Starting this fall, customers in the U.S. and Canada will be able to use any one of those payment options and scan the app to earn rewards on their purchases. Customers can also load these payment methods directly onto the mobile app.

"Having a connection with our customers, whether in our stores or digitally allows us to anticipate their needs and deliver the products and experiences they are looking for," Brady Brewer, chief marketing officer at Starbucks, said in a company release. "Our customers have shared with us that they would like more options to pay and earn stars in the app as a Starbucks Rewards member, in addition to the Starbucks card."
