Square snags another retail partner in AT&T

Square has signed a new retail partner. The company said its mobile credit card readers will be sold at AT&T's 1,000 retail outlets.

While not on par with Square's recent partnership with Starbucks, today's news means that AT&T joins a host of retailers, including Radio Shack and Apple, as partners offering the mobile POS device.

With the addition of AT&T, Square is now available in more than 20,000 retail locations nationwide.

"AT&T stores are a convenient retail destination for purchasing Square card readers, offering entrepreneurs the ability to purchase all of the devices they need to run their business in one place," said Jeffrey Kolovson, head of retail distribution at Square, in the announcement.

The Square card reader retails for $9.95 but offers a $10 rebate upon signup.
